This full day tour offers us the chance to see one of the most beautiful places in the world: The Queen of the Fjords, the Hardanger Fjord. We will begin this excursion with a brief panoramic view of the most outstanding areas of Bergen, including the Bergenhus Fortress, the Town Hall and the Rosenkrantz Tower. We will skirt the fjord, to see from a distance, the islands and snowy landscapes (depending on the date of your trip).
We will arrive at Trengereid aali, we will leave the fjord and we will enter the valleys and mountains of Gulbotn, a popular ski area, which has trails illuminated due to the short duration of sunlight during the winter months. We will descend again to another one of the countless fjords, to continue towards our first stop of the day: the Bride’s veil. This waterfall called Fossenbratte unfolds all its splendor over a green valley of farms, a landscape worthy of a beautiful postcard.
From here, we continue through the mountains, towards Kvamshogen, winter recreation area, with numerous alpine ski slopes and beautiful and picturesque wooden cabins, with the peat roof, typical of the country.
We continue through the Tokagjelet gorge, to reach our second stop of the day: Steinsdalsfossen. This wonderful waterfall, which suddenly appeared one day, back in 1699, when the river opened a new channel after an avalanche. We will be able to walk behind its curtain of water in its main jump of approx. 20 meter drop. After enjoying this wonder of nature, we will continue our journey to the town of Øystese, in the heart of the Hardanger fjord, where we will stop for lunch. (free lunch). On the way back to Bergen, we walk along the fjord coast, to the town of Munheim, where we enter imposing valleys of small villages, until we reach Holmefjord, one of the arms of the Hardanger fjord. This is one of the areas with the highest concentration of salmon nurseries worldwide. Upon arrival in the city of Bergen we will make a panoramic visit of it, taking a short walk through the alleys of the Hanseatico neighborhood of Bryggen, if time permits.
From there, at the end of the excursion, we return to port for farewell.
