Departure for Strandzha Mountain. The route follows a scenic mountain road through the Nature park Strandzha, visiting authentic Strandzha villages, including Bulgari and Gramatikovo village. Bulgari village is well-known for the authentic Nestinar ritual dance, included in UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The whole area is remarkable for the best-preserved ethnographic traditions and untouched nature. Near the village is situated Silkosia Nature Reserve – the first Bulgarian reserve, presenting unique local flora and fauna. After our stop at Gramatikovo village for lunch we will depart back to the coast.
Our trip continues with a 30-minute boat trip along Ropotamo River, part of Ropotamo Nature Reserve. It flows from Strandzha Mountain to the Black Sea. This magnificent river has salty waters several kilometers after its spring. The flora and fauna along the river are really beautiful and diverse – water lilies, turtles, birds, reptiles and so on. The fish in the river is mainly sea, because of the salty waters. During some seasons the waters of the river become muddy. Everything here is organic; the color of the river is unique because of the red plankton.
