Itinerary

Upon your arrival, our quide will await you at the port holding the Shorex sign.
Lindos is the most attractive village at the island of Rhodes, with its famous Acropolis (entrance fees paid on spot), the traditional architecture and the decoration if the typical village houses, its beautiful beach and the picturesque port of Agios Pavlos, where Saint Paul was detained on this way to Rome and blessed the people in 53BC.
You can reach the Acropolis on foot where we can visit the Stoa, which was restored as the Temple of Athena Lindia of IV BC. We will also visir the Ancient Theater and the archaeological remains of the Temple of Dionysus. The panoramic view from the rock of Acropolis is unique. The village is very attractive thanks to the black and white stones. Many of these buildings that date from the XV and XVI centuries have been officially listed and protected as ancient monuments.
On our way back, we will have a panoramic tour in order to view the top of Monte Smith (the superior acropolis of Ancient Rhodes) that was named after the admiral Sir Sidney Smith who had his viewpoint in this area in the 19th century in order to wath the movements of Napoleon’s fleet during his war against the Turcs. We will continue our tour with the port of Mandraki  where, according to the tradition, one of the seven wonders of the world, the Colossus of Rhodes, was located. The Colossus was a huge copper statue that represented the god of Sun holding a lit torch. The statue was located at the entrance of the port; the one foot was stepping on the one side of the entrance while the other foot on the other side, and the boats were floating between the legs.
When we arrive at the old town, we will finish our tour by bus and we will continue on foot in the beautiful traditional alleys. We will have the opportunity to visit the Palace of the Grand Master, the administrative center and the Acropolis of the Knoghts (optional visit without guide). We will continue our walkinf tour to the Archaeological Museum, also known as the Hospital of the Knights (optional visit without guide). At this point, the guide finishes the excursion and you will have free time to continue your visit and taste the gastronomy or buy souvenirs from the touristic shops.
