Port Overview
Most cruise ships visiting Rijeka (Croatia) dock at the city’s main passenger terminal, located close to the historic city center and main attractions. The port of Rijeka is one of Croatia’s largest seaports, primarily handling cargo, but it also serves as a stop for small and medium-sized cruise ships exploring the northern Adriatic.

Cruise vessels typically berth at the Riva quay or at the Adriatic Gate terminal, both offering direct access to the city. When dock space is limited, smaller ships may anchor in the bay and tender passengers ashore. The port’s location allows easy walking access to Rijeka’s central promenade, Korzo, as well as museums, churches, and the city’s historic fortifications.

Passenger facilities at the cruise port include a terminal building with customs, security, and basic services. The port area is well connected with local transport, providing access to guided tours, taxis, and buses to nearby attractions such as Opatija and the Istrian Peninsula.

Port authorities continue to plan improvements aimed at enhancing the cruise terminal infrastructure and services in order to accommodate larger vessels and increasing cruise traffic.
