Port Overview
The Port of Nessebar, located on Bulgaria’s southern Black Sea coast, serves as a boutique cruise destination renowned for its rich history and UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town. While it is a small port, it attracts cruise vessels—mainly small and mid-sized ships—looking to offer passengers a scenic and cultural stop in the region.

Due to the limited port infrastructure, most cruise ships anchor offshore and tender passengers to the small marina, located at the edge of the historic peninsula. From there, visitors can easily walk into the heart of the old town, where cobbled streets lead to medieval churches, traditional wooden houses, and archaeological sites dating back to ancient Thrace and Byzantium.

Passenger facilities at the port are minimal, with customs and basic services provided at the marina. However, the proximity to the town center makes for a seamless and charming arrival experience. Local guides and tour operators are usually present at the port to offer walking tours or excursions to nearby attractions, including Sunny Beach resort and the city of Burgas.

The municipality of Nessebar continues to promote sustainable tourism and cultural preservation, making it an increasingly popular stop for cultural and boutique cruise itineraries in the Black Sea region.
