Port Overview
The Port of Lisbon, located along the northern bank of the Tagus River, is one of Europe’s premier cruise destinations and a major hub for Atlantic and Mediterranean itineraries. Known for its scenic sail-in past iconic landmarks such as the Belém Tower and the 25 de Abril Bridge, Lisbon offers a blend of historical charm and modern amenities that make it a favorite among cruise passengers and lines alike.

Cruise ships dock at one of several dedicated berths, most notably the Lisbon Cruise Terminal (Jardim do Tabaco Quay), a modern facility situated close to the historic city center. Other berthing locations include Santa Apolónia and Alcântara terminals. All are within easy reach of Lisbon’s key attractions, either on foot or via short transfers.

The Lisbon Cruise Terminal features full-service facilities, including customs and immigration, passenger lounges, tourist information, restrooms, and accessibility features. Its modern architecture and efficient layout make it well-suited for both transit and turnaround operations.

From the port, visitors can quickly access Lisbon’s historic neighborhoods such as Alfama, Baixa, and Chiado, or explore landmarks like São Jorge Castle, the Jerónimos Monastery, and the MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology). Hop-on-hop-off buses, taxis, trams, and guided tours are available at the terminal.

Lisbon continues to invest in cruise tourism, with sustainability initiatives and port improvements aimed at accommodating larger ships while maintaining a high-quality passenger experience. Its blend of culture, cuisine, and coastal beauty firmly positions it as a key port of call and embarkation point in Western Europe.
